The issue of environmental protection has priority for Heindl. The thoughtful and sustainable use of raw materials affect all departments, from production to packaging, from delivery to sales in our shops.

For example, the careful separation of the waste (paper, plastic, glass, residual waste, etc.) in all areas is self-evident and an absolute must for us and all our employees. Everything that can be used multiple times in a meaningful manner, is brought into a recycling loop. Examples are the over-packagings, in which inserts for our confectionerys are transported to our headquarter, but also liquor containers and shipping pallets are returned to their respective suppliers, because they can be used again and again. Furthermore the selection of our suppliers is very important: in addition to the quality and origin of raw materials we pay attention to the aspect of environmental impact of production, packaging and transporting.

Since 2006, the Confiserie Heindl is a certified ‘Ökoprofit’-company. This prize is awarded by the City of Vienna to approved companies from the manufacturing sector, which demonstrate a comprehensive environmental management. The project aims at efficient use of resources and raw materials as well as optimization of production processes and avoidance of waste.
